I love metal picks and the latest addition to my collection are a pair of picks from Germany's AT Picks. Made from brass and plated with sterling silver they're almost too pretty to abuse. Thankfully the picks have a sharp, clear attack that makes them hard to not abuse... Add to that a smooth, slightly rounded edge and among metal picks those from AT are just about the smoothest feeling and sounding. The only complaint I have is that with dirty or oily fingertips they are a little slippery feeling so washing your hands before playing is a good idea. I might try slightly scuffing one with a Scotch-Brite™ pad to see if that improves the grip.
Right now AT only offers two styles, Black Hole Sun (left) and Black Mantis but Michael from AT told me more are on the way. Available only direct from AT's website they're surprisingly affordable. Two picks shipped from Germany came in at just over thirty bucks.
